Bio +

Nina Shayan Depatie is an experienced family law attorney, representing clients throughout Los Angeles. A strong advocate with experience trying high-stakes cases, Nina also recognizes that family law matters can be emotionally trying and is dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for her clients in and out of court. Because every client and every fact pattern is unique, Nina favors a highly-personalized approach, tailored to her clients’ specific needs, and pursues all avenues to achieve the desired outcomes at the desired timelines.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Nina has always been passionate about helping others. Prior to being an attorney, Nina worked at the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office in the Major Crimes Unit and volunteered with the Domestic Abuse Self Help (DASH) offices of multiple courthouses in Los Angeles County. Her undergraduate studies in psychology built off these experiences to give Nina a greater understanding and appreciation for the challenges that people experience throughout their lives.

Recognizing the value of effective and fair dispute resolution, Nina has mediated various cases at Los Angeles County courthouses, serving as a Daily Settlement Officer in the Los Angeles Superior Court’s ADR Settlement Program. She also previously volunteered for the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law. Throughout these activities, she developed strong relationships in the family law community and gained a deep grasp of the inner workings of the legal system.

Recognized by Forbes in 2024 and 2025 as one of Los Angeles’ top ten divorce attorneys — the only attorney under 40 to appear on the list — and named a Super Lawyers® Rising Star every year since 2022, Nina was also named to Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America® for Family Law and for Family Law Mediation in 2025 and 2026. Nina was also recognized by Lawdragon as one of the country’s 500 Leading Family Lawyers in 2026.
